CT Board of Regents Votes to Freeze Tuition for CSCU Students During 2025-2026 Academic Year

Under the adopted fee structure, tuition and mandatory fees will remain flat for the 2025-2026 academic year. Increases in food service fees vary by university.

Today, the Connecticut Board of Regents for Higher Education (BOR) voted to freeze tuition for the four Connecticut State Universities (CSUs), Connecticut State Community College (CT State), and Charter Oak State College during the 2025-2026 academic year.

“Freezing tuition rates for CSCU students is part of our shared North Star for ensuring our colleges and universities remain accessible and affordable for all,” said Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) Chancellor Terrence Cheng. “This tuition freeze will only make it easier for our students to learn here, stay here, and earn their degree here.”

“It’s vital that we continue to identify ways to make our institutions more affordable for our students. This tuition freeze will not only further support our students in their postsecondary education but will also help us increase our retention and graduation rates across our institutions,” said Marty Guay, Chair of the BOR.

“Our students face so many challenges – some are juggling school while working full-time or part-time, and others have family members to care for. By freezing tuition, we can help lift up our students and decrease the financial burden they may face,” said Richard Balducci, Chair of the BOR's Finance and Infrastructure Committee. “It’s incumbent upon the Board of Regents to now search for ways to keep tuition at a minimum increase – if at all – for the next couple of years.”

Under the adopted fee structure, tuition and mandatory fees will remain flat for the 2025-2026 academic year. Increases in food service fees vary by university.
