CSCU System Receives Grant for EDI-focused Library E-Resources
CSCU has been awarded $91,000 in grant funds for the purchase of permanent system-wide online access to library e-resources that address equity, diversity, and inclusion across academic disciplines.
The Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) system has been awarded $91,000 in grant funds for the purchase of permanent system-wide online access to library e-resources (e.g., e-books, streaming videos, and articles) that address equity, diversity, and inclusion across academic disciplines. The funds were received through the Public Educational and Governmental Programming and Education Technology Investment Account (PEGPETIA) Grant Program, which is overseen by the State of Connecticut’s Public Utilities Regulatory Authority.
The grant was developed through the CSCU Library Consortium, a partnership that empowers collaboration across the CSCU libraries in support of success, equity, diversity, social justice, and access to resources that spark creativity and intellectual enrichment. Working in consultation with the consortium’s Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Social Justice Team that consists of library personnel across the CSCU system, Patrick Carr, CSCU’s program manager for Library Consortium Operations, wrote and submitted the grant proposal in early 2023. Now that funds have been awarded, the consortium’s Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Social Justice Team will work to make selection decisions. The selected e-resources will be curated for currency, quality, and diversity of authorship and perspective.
Purchases should be completed by fall 2023. The purchased e-resources will be made discoverable and accessible through the websites and discovery platforms available on the CSCU libraries’ websites.
