"Among all the candidates responding, we were able to select as our finalists the three that we believe are eminently capable of moving WCSU forward with their leadership, energy and vision."

"The Western Connecticut State University search produced a broad array of excellent candidates, each of whom would bring exceptional experience and skills to the University," said Regent Merle Harris, the Search Committee Chair. "Among all the candidates responding, we were able to select as our finalists the three that we believe are eminently capable of moving WCSU forward with their leadership, energy and vision."

The presidential search commenced in December 2014, following President James Schmotter’s announcement of his retirement effective July 1. The presidential search was conducted by the Regents Search Committee, with the invaluable assistance of the University Advisory Committee.

Following the finalists’ visits next week, the University Advisory Committee will provide their unranked feedback to the Regents Search Committee. The Regents Search Committee, comprised of six members of the Board of Regents for Higher Education, will then make their final selection, subject to ratification by the full Board of Regents at the May 21 board meeting.
