The Board of Regents for Higher Education — which governs the 17 Connecticut State Colleges & Universities — today voted to appoint James Lombella the Interim President of Asnuntuck Community College (ACC) in Enfield following President Martha McLeod's retirement effective July 1, 2013. Lombella, who is currently the Chief Finance Officer and Dean of Administration at ACC, will serve in both roles concurrently.

“Jim Lombella is well respected at Asnuntuck, and his leadership will be critical to the campus,” said Lewis J. Robinson, Chairman of the Board of Regents. "We thank him for his continued service to Asnuntuck, and look forward to working with him in this new capacity."

"I'm honored to have been selected to fill the large shoes of President McLeod, and am excited to continue my work at Asnuntuck in this new and expanded role," said Lombella. "I look forward to continuing to work with my colleagues and students at Asnuntuck, and thank the Board of Regents for the confidence they have placed in me."

Lombella arrived at ACC in 2009 and served in several roles before becoming the chief finance officer/dean of Administration. He also served as associate dean of Workforce Development and Continuing Education and as an adjunct instructor in the Advanced Manufacturing Center. Prior to his time at ACC, Lombella was an operations manager for the Pepperidge Farm/Campbell Soup Company and Plastipak Packaging, Inc., and a small business owner.
